My husband and I spent a wonderful day with Carlos touring the Duoro Valley and despite the rain we had a great time. The tour started with a pleasant boat ride. We then had a fabulous lunch including tasting a variety of wines at a local winery followed by an amazing tour of this winery that has been in the family for 8 generations. After the tour Carlos put the jeep in 4 x 4 and took us down this windy road through the vineyards. We then passed on the last tasting only because we were still stuff from lunch. Carlos was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent english. Overall a great day.
We booked well in advance, as some friends had already had this wonderful experience and we didn’t want to go to the Douro without doing it. We were excited, and no matter how high our expectations were, they were all exceeded, there is no possible description. The guide was super attentive, a very well-structured program and places worthy of real postcards, I highly recommend Deltatur and its services as they are without a doubt the best way to discover the most historic and beautiful region in Portugal.
